BBA 204: Legal Environment of Business

Overview

The law affects every facet of life, from business to personal activities. Your introduction to the legal system will come from the study of contracts, especially their use, provisions, and clauses, in the areas of international law, administrative law, securities regulation, unfair trade practices, and the environment. Human resource topics, such as equal employment, worker safety, and labor laws will also be examined.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the American legal system and its impact on business decisions.
  • Define key legal terms used in business operations.
  • Identify the major components of the litigation process.
  • Discuss the ethics of the business and legal professions.
