BA 716: Organizational Measurement and Assessment II

Estimated Hours Per Week: 20

Overview

BA716 continues the process of initiating, completing, and effectively communicating applied business decision-making that was started in BA715. BA716 emphasizes cash flow analysis, return on invested capital and profitability analysis. It addresses prospective, credit and equity analysis and valuation. The focus is on the application of financial and non-financial information to a wide range of business decisions.  A variety of financial decision-making tools will be utilized in the analysis of these decision-making processes (e.g., problem and hypothesis testing and resolution).  The financial measurements will include tools such as break-even analysis (as used in profit planning), activity-based costing procedures, resource allocation, the balanced scorecard framework, and utilizing expertise from professional networks (e.g., colleagues, professors, selected professionals).  Problem identification, analysis (e.g., hypothesis building and testing), and resolution will be applied to current unresolved practical and professional business problems.
