Jones International University (JIU) is honored to support the Troops-to-Teachers program and participate in the program as an education provider. Troops-to-Teachers (TTT) was established in 1994 as a Department of Defense program to assist and encourage military personnel transition to second careers as teachers in K-12 public schools. It targets teacher shortages in math, science, special education, and vocational/technical subjects. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 provides for the continuation of TTT through 2006.
JIU’s Master of Education and Teacher Licensure programs help candidates in any location earn their teaching credentials while studying entirely online. And, we are pleased to offer military personnel and dependents a 20 percent tuition scholarship.
